Kidde is a very well known make when it comes to fire safety, so rest assured that you are purchasing a quality product. The operation is extremely simple- remove the safety pin, and squeeze to spray. There is a handy pressure gauge on the top left of the unit, that is simply read at a glance. I've just ordered a new one because after 10 years the recharge indicator indicates recharge is necessary (i.e. cheaper to replace). It looks fine on the wall, the bracket is simple to fix. This 1.0 kg size is adequate for a bin fire or small kitchen emergency. I would say that a fire blanket is more important to have, or buy both.
