A bit of bent tin. By: Peter Miller, on December 21, 2013 Pros: Cons: "I purchased this to replace an identical lock that lasted about a year before jamming up. This one lasted two weeks before it refused to work and I had to kick the door open. I went out and purchased a better lock for very little more money. Unfortunately I had thrown out the bit that goes on the door frame so could not return it. Quite frankly the quality of the internal workings (From looking at the first one) is poor to be polite, |

Just the job By: Mr. J. B. Cooper, on November 3, 2012 Pros: Cons: "Contrary to the review I read before purchase, this rim lock has worked perfectly from first fitting without sticking or squeaking. I replaced an existing broken rim lock of unknown vintage and the holes for handle and key were not quite in the right place so I had to drill new ones, but apart from that fitting was straightforward. I guess the standards dimensions may have been different when the original lock was made (maybe 50 years ago maybe 150). I would have preferred a polished rather than brushed... |
